The Southern University Lady Jaguars softball team received more great news on Wednesday night as five players were named to the 2008 All-Southwestern Athletic Conference team. SU also earned a first round bye in the 2008 SWAC softball tournament, finishing as the Western division's top seed for the fifth consecutive year.
Seniors Tiffany Darville and Courtney Chappell earned second team honors while sophomores Megan Hodge and Jasmine Williams received first-team accolades. Lone junior Lauren Dodd was named to the All-SWAC academic team. This is Chappell's fourth straight post season second-team award while Darville earns her second. Pitcher Megan Hodge totals two now for post season first-team honors while Williams received her first award in her collegiate career.
SU will play the winner between Prairie View A&M and Alcorn State at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 25.
